  2. Oh my God...NO. I am so, so, so sorry for you and your family. My heart is broken for you and words can't tell you how very sad I am for you today. I have been praying so hard for Travis and following your journey for so long and NEVER thought it would end this way. Rest in peace Travis.

  3. Dear Roger and Nicole...

No words can express the sadness and sympathy I have for you and your family. He is with God at his right side. You are the best parents ever and Travis had a wonderful life with you. He lives in your hearts always...always...

Dear Lord, how do we make sense of this loss and go on? Give your strength to Roger and Nicole and their family today and well ahead. Hold Travis Gary DiCarlo in the palm of Your hand through Christ our Lord. Amen

  9. Bless him with your kisses and hugs as you send him across. God will be there to sweep him into his arms and hold him until you are rejoined with him in your time. Love never dies. My nephew died at age 14 months of the same condition, and the heartbreak was immeasurable. Maybe I shouldn't say this, but our angel Tonio now has three healthy and thriving siblings who know their brother through a book, stories and rememberances. I am so sorry for your shattered hope and the loss of his perfect wee smile. He was really beautiful.

  13. Dear beloved parents of Travis...

I do not know you, and just found out about your journey this very morning. I have been praying on my knees with my 2 1/2 year old daughter for your son. My heart is breaking and tears are on the keyboard as we speak. At the same time I felt compelled to write you... this is a quote by Randy Alcorn that one of the pastor's at theMovement church recently talked about..

"Those who believe in Christ could more accurately call our present existence the beforelife rather than calling Heaven the afterlife. Life doesn't merely continue in Heaven; it emerges at last to it's intended fullness."

I know that no human words will give you comfort at this time. Hold each other and look to Him... I am continuing to pray for your family that peace will surpass all understanding...

I encourage you to not stop your blogging today.. your story has touched many people and Travis' life will be etched on many hearts.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
    Psalm 34:18

  31. Words that were shared with me when my niece was born into the arms of Jesus three years ago:

    When God calls little children
    To dwell with Him above,
    We mortals sometimes question
    The wisdom of His love.
    For no heartache compares with,
The death of one small child,
Who does so much to make our world,
    Seem so wonderful and mild.
    Perhaps God tires of calling
    The aged to His fold,
    So He picks a rosebud
    Before it can grow old.
God knows how much we need them,
And so He takes but few,
To make the land of heaven
    More beautiful to view.
    Believing this is difficult
    Still somehow we must try,
    The saddest word mankind
    knows will always be Good-by.
So when a little child departs,
    We who are left behind
    Must realize God loves children,
    Angels are hard to find.

  40. I am so sorry for your loss. There aren't enough words in the English language to encompass this type of loss. No parent should ever experience this. My friend lost her little girl, Mia, to HLHS after an 87 day battle. My heart feels so burdened for your family. I will be praying that a peace that surpasses all understanding enraptures your family. Heart Hugs...

  44. Dear Roger and Nicole, I am hurt and crying for you guys in the hope of taking some of the pain from you. This is all so soon after our daughter, 5 months old, went to be with Jesus just last month. It's surreal when it happens. We will be on our knees praying for you. KNOW that you serve a God who loves you and understands what it's like to lose a child, and KNOW that you will see Travis again in heaven when I see my Madeline again too. So very sorry for your loss. Lots of love from Denver, CO and may God please bless you mightily at this very hour.

Love, Shanker, Lisa, Molly, Miranda, Macy, and Madeline (up in heaven).

  55. I am so sorry for your loss. Life is so fragile & it's just unfair that he (and you) went through so much to have it ripped away so easily. It doesn't seem real to me & i've followed your journey. Your little girl had a very brave big brother who will watch over her as she grows up. Hang on to all of the great memories you had of him. I don't really know what else to say but it's just not fair.
