Five Things Friday

1. Easter is right around the corner and in the spirit of the holiday we made Travis try on some bunny ears.

He really wasn't to happy about it, but we had fun. I can't wait to have Travis "hunt" for eggs. I
remember taking Peyton (my cousin's child) to an egg hunt when she was really small and it
was a lot of fun. Since Travis can just hold things we will just scatter eggs around him and let him try to pick them up. We bought him a football Easter basket.

2. Roger and I have been a little concerned about Travis' weight this past week. Since the
Double-Double post he has not gained any weight. He still weighs 12lbs 6oz on our scale here at home. I took him to the nurses clinic today to have him weighed and he weighs 12lbs 10oz. So, that is good. She mentioned that sometimes their weight gain stalls while they get a little longer. Hopefully, that is all that is happening here.

3. Travis is finally
fitting into his 6
months onesies. We received a whole bunch of CUTE
6 month onesies and I am glad he is fitting into them. He is still wearing size 0-3 in most clothes
and 3 month pajamas. I think he will be moving onto 6 month pajamas soon enough though because he is getting long! It is so fun to dress him up in cute clothes. Although, boys clothes aren't nearly as cute as girl clothes. Here are a couple of his cutie 6 month outfits!

4. Last weekend my aunt Michelle came down to meet Travis. We decided to take him out
to the Wild Animal Park. It was a lot of fun. He mostly stayed in his stroller and checked things out. We did have to take him out to ride the tram. I wiped the whole seat and handles with Clorex wipes....just in case ;) Here are some pictures from our trip.
Nana bought Travis a little Zebra toy. He loved it! It was a really fun day. Can't wait until Travis is a little older and can REALLY enjoy the WAP. :)

5. Travis is now sleeping in his own room. He took to it pretty quickly but he still wakes up three times a night for his paci and once to eat. Unfortunately, his room is all the way down the hallway so we have to sprint down there to get his paci. I want to start trying to break him from this habit...maybe during Roger's spring break. We have two different infant monitors....one video monitor that is set to show us the numbers on his heart machine and one digital sound monitor that we keep next to Travis. So, I feel a pretty comfortable with him over there. He is such a big boy! :)

It's March Madness.....Daddy and I have been drivin' momma crazy with all the basketball games. It was so hot the other day the we decided to let Travis hang out in his diaper. He loves being naked. :)
Super cute....he kept snuggling with this blanket
We really do feed him. He acts like he is starving. Nom, nom, nom. Blanket, the other, other white meat!
"Who, me?"
Loving March Madness. Notice how small he is next to that ball.....that is proof that he is much smaller than the pictures make him out to be.

We Have a Date

Travis' next surgery will be May 21st at 8:30am. Just knowing an exact date makes my heart start to break all over again. I do NOT want to go through this again. I can't stand to think about him hurting again. I've already been having nightmares about going back to the hospital. We are meeting with the surgeon to discuss the procedure on May 6th. The surgical coordinator is sending us a packet on how we can have friends and family donate blood to Trav. If you are blood type O+ stay tuned.....I will post some information about how you can donate some blood to our little man.

Please pray for Roger and I to have strength and to calm our fears. Also, continue to pray for Travis to remain in good health until his surgery day so that he will go into surgery in tip-top shape. Thank you!!

Five Things Friday

1. I had to share this cute photo I caught of Travis during his tummy time. I put one of the books we read together in front of him and he was actually trying to turn the pages. Super cute! look at his expression....he is really trying to understand it. We are going to have a good little reader on our hands!
2. My mom has finally decided to take the plunge! She is going to retire at the end of July. I am super happy for her, her job was way to stressful. The best part is that she will be watching Travis from our house when I return to work in August. It is wonderful to know that he will be with someone who knows him and his special needs. It will make the transition back to work a lot easier on me.

3. I was so excited when I got the mail today....Roger and I bought year passes to the Zoo and the Wild Animal Park. I am looking forward to taking Travis all the time after his next surgery. Until then, we will have to go during the week and try to stay out of crowded spaces. Travis still needs to stay germ free until his next surgery!!

4. At our cardiology appointment on Monday we spoke to the doctor about Travis' heart alarm and how it goes off all.the.time! He mentioned that the settings we went home with in December should be lowered as babies have lower resting heart rates as they get older. Since we changed the settings, we have had several good nights sleep. Yay! Sleep really does wonders for you :) And, speaking of sleeping...we have been tossing around the idea of moving Travis to his own room in his own crib. Our thought is that we could face the video monitor to the heart machine so we could see what is going on if it beeps at night. We are planning to do a test run tomorrow night. I am a little scared and a whole lot sad but I know this is best as we don't want Travis sleeping between us when he is a teenager :) Let's hope it goes well!

5. We bought Travis one of those door frame jumperoos. He is super small in it so we have to put cloth diapers under his bum and all around to hold him in there. He seems to like it. He loves the toys and he has learned how to make the lights and sounds come on. He has yet to figure out how to jump but mommy helps him by bouncing him up and down. We'll have to get a picture on him in his jumperoo and post it soon.

Cardiology Appointment and Some New Pics

Today we had a cardiology appointment down in San Diego. Travis does really well with going to the doctor's office. He is very active and kicks around while the doctor is examining him and listening to his heart. He especially loves how the paper on the exam table crinkles when he kicks it :o) According to the doctor, Travis' heart sounds great. The doctor was very impressed with his muscle tone and strength as Travis was kicking him. The exciting news is....Travis weighed in at 12 pounds .06 ounces. We hit another weight goal and he continues to hit all of the important milestones (he is even VERY close to rolling over from back to belly).

During the visit, we also discussed Travis' next surgery and the approximate timing for it. It looks like it could be in late April or early May depending on Dr. Lamberti's schedule. Since Travis is progressing so nicely, there is no rush for the surgery. Nicole and I are anxious and would like to get it out of the way so we don't have to worry about it anymore.

Travis weighed in at a whopping 12 lbs .o6 ounces. Mommy caught Travis watching T.V. with daddy. Bad boys!
Travis got his new BUMMER Bear in the mail today. It is very soft.
It has a zipper and a fixed heart inside. It'll be a great way to explain his scars as he gets older.

"What's Up?" Wednesday

Here are a few new pictures of our little miracle guy. He is just getting more and more cute every day! He is now able to sit in his stroller without the infant seat part. He is sooo curious these days!! I had to run to the grocery store today and he was so cute. He was just sitting looking at everything and taking it all in. I however, was almost running through the store so no one tried to touch him or sneeze on him :)

Travis is getting super strong. He is really close to sitting up. He is starting to pay attention to his feet. It won't be long until he is tripoding.

This is Travis when he is tired...he rubs his eyes to let us know that play time is over.

Bath time is always fun. The frog towel is made to keep him warm. He is *almost* to big for his infant tub. He kicks his feet and the water splashes the mirror in the bathroom. Mommy just loves that ;)

Happy boy!
Kind of looks like we are early for St. Patrick's Day. Haha!
There are no appropriate words for this picture. Too funny!
Guess what...I can roll!! On Sunday morning I decided to follow my big head and roll from my tummy to my back! I did it four times that day :0) I still can't roll from back to front though.

Travis is getting much better at tummy time. We can usually get five to ten minutes of T.T. before he starts screaming.
Look how strong his neck is getting!
So cute. Play time on the carpet with Momma.
My new favorite toy, Momma's fingers. Nom, nom, nom.
I couldn't help but put a shot in here on Travis' crazy hair. He has this natural little mohawk curl. He gets compliments all the time :)
